Paranormal refers to phenomena or experiences that are claimed to occur outside what is currently understood or explained by established science.

Example often described as paranormal include:- Ghosts and Spirits, Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Precognition, Unexplained UFO/UAP experiences, Apparitions and other alleged Supernatural Encounters.

Paranormal generally means that someone reports an unusual phenomenon for which there is currently no accepted scientific explanation. some such experiences may eventually receive ordinary explanations, while others remain unexplained. In simple terms Paranormal means beyond the normal laws or explanations of science.

The paranormal interest group is being formed with the aim of curiosity and social discussion rather than trying to prove that paranormal phenomena are real. The purpose of the group is:

1. As a social activity, to give people the opportunity to meet like minded individuals to chat and take part in talks, walks, film and documentary evenings and visit locations.
2. Bring together people who enjoy discussing unusual experiences and ideas.
3. Explore subjects such as ghosts, UFOs/UAPs, near-death experiences, folklore and unexplained events.
4. Local History: Research stories, legends, old buildings and historical events in the local area.
5. Consider both paranormal explanations and conventional explanations.
