Turn an ordinary glass bottle into something beautiful.

Looking for a relaxing creative activity to enjoy in the New Year?

Our weekly glass painting and decorating course starts early 2027 and offers a chance to learn, experiment and create something unique in a friendly relaxing setting. Over each two hour session, you'll transform an ordinary glass bottle into a decorative piece that you can enjoy at home or give as a thoughtful, personalized gift to family or friends. Whether you're already creative or simply fancy trying something different, the sessions are designed to be enjoyable, practical and hands-on.

To keep each session relaxed and personal, places will be limited to just 10 participants. You'll be able to work at your own pace whilst enjoying the company of other u3a members.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a clean, glass bottle of any color with a reasonably large flat area suitable for painting. some of the more decorative bottles have patterns or raised designs over much of the surface, so they aren't always suitable. Gin bottles often work particularly well because they tend to have a good flat surface. Before you bring your bottle, please make sure that all labels and any sticky glue residue have been completely removed.

And there's a little extra sparkle!

Your finished bottle will be illuminated with rechargeable USB lights included in the course fee, helping to turn your painted design into an attractive decorative light.

Cost is £10 per course which includes venue cost, decorating materials and rechargeable USB lights.
