The meditation group looks to help those seeking to start or improve their meditation practice through practical exposure to simple meditation techniques, and an exploration of many different forms of meditation. We aim to cover the benefits of meditation, the many and different types of meditations and how they contrast. We aim to help those who want to incorporate a different style of meditation into their regular practice, in a way that fits them, or are just cultivating an interest in the subject.
We will cover traditional meditative techniques, through to more modern hybrid techniques, such as Flow which is ubiquitous but is also used in high performance circles, including elite soldiers and sportsmen, and are very closely related to meditation. At its very simplest, meditation can be used for deep relaxation, release of tension and stress, the ability to quieten and control the chattering monkey mind we all suffer from, to be more in the present moment, alleviate fear from situations which cause you unrealistic fear and stress, improve visualisation techniques which may be helpful in providing insights and creativity.
Nick has wide experience in meditative techniques, having been introduced to meditation at a young age, and has practiced and studied meditation in many different forms. Nick is also a Flow trainer, and has an active interest in using these techniques across a wide range of activities.
