This new group had its inaugural meeting at the beginning of August 2026 when 11 people who had initially indicated their interest met and talked about how such a group would cover the various areas of interest that were raised by those present. Rather than just be a talk shop, it is hoped that the group would use the opportunity each month to choose a different area of government to discuss, with the objective being to formulate questions for the various professionals who would be invited to talk to the group, to answer.

10th September - subject for discussion will be ' The Machinery of Government '.

24th September - confirmed speaker Peter Harwood will attend and speak about the ' Machinery of Government '.

There is no charge except to purchase a drink from the bar which includes tea and coffee as well as the usual soft or alcoholic options.
